The Afghanistan Central Business Registry & Intellectual property (ACBRIP) is the government agency under MOIC. This office is basically in-charge of registering businesses in the country.
Formerly, ACBR was established in 2008 with initial function of registering business licenses, issued by AISA. Later, in 2012 Intellectual property was reformed underneath ACBR to deliver trademark registration services. As of now, in very next future we will also be performing patent, GI registration, industrial design & integrated circuit registration services.
The following year, licenses and NGOs Directorate was transformed to ACBRIP and services have been extended to provinces.Subsequentially, AISA was also merged to ACBRIP in order to exclude parallel administrations and reduce bureaucracy.
Reference to the decree #2943; Date: 31 Dec, 2017 of presidential office, One Stop-Shop was also reformed under ACBRIP to bring more simplicity to the process of licensing and became single window solution for all sectorial ministries.
ACBRIP is charged with a set of crucial responsibilities of patent and trademarks registration, licensing, support and promotion of investments in Afghanistan. We commenced as an agency that provides licenses to companies those wishing to invest in Afghanistan. ACBRIP has now evolved into a pro-active institution in aspect of support and promoting investments and furthermore, enabling environment and formulation of policies for investment in Afghanistan.
